Katie is a firm believer in the power of movement as medicine and has used her practices to relieve a variety of physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual ailments. Her yoga philosophy is based around slow, deliberate movements, soft, steady breathing, and an understanding of each individual’s particular alignment needs. Above all, she likes to encourage a light, accepting, and non-competitive environment for her classes.

Katie discovered yoga in 2010 and began her yoga teacher training in the summer of 2013 with North Texas Yoga, under the tutelage of Laura King. She is a certified yoga teacher at the 200-hour level, a Certified TreeYoga Instructor, and a Certified JourneyDance™ Facilitator, having completed a three-module training program under JourneyDance creator Toni Bergins.

She considers herself a consummate student and is always looking to further her yoga knowledge, both experientially and theoretically.
